"Subhranshu Senapati Joins Madhya Pradesh: Odisha’s Cricket Star Moves On To Another State"
Odisha’s emerging cricket talent, Subhranshu Senapati, has decided to move on from playing for his home state. He officially announced today that he will be joining the Madhya Pradesh team for the upcoming season.During a press conference this afternoon, Senapati informed the media that he had requested and received the No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), allowing him to make the switch.
Discussing his future plans, Senapati mentioned that his decision to leave Odisha was motivated by the opportunity to play cricket for Madhya Pradesh. “I took the decision to leave playing for Odisha for my career. Some players who had left the State earlier have become successful while playing for other states. I too believe that I will become successful. Madhya Pradesh coach Chandrakant Pandit had contacted me and the OCA has extended me support,” he stated.
He mentioned “I express my gratitude to OCA for the help and support. I have received NOC from the State Cricket board. I have taken this decision for my future as a better team and coach with assurance of opportunity have approached me”.
Further Sudhanshu Said "There is no lacuna in Odisha or OCA. Anyone and everyone can play here and grow in life. But my decision is a personal decision.”
With this development, Subhranshu Senapati has become the tenth cricketer from Odisha to play for another state. He had represented Odisha for the past eight years, scoring 2967 runs in 55 matches. His achievements include 8 centuries and 12 half-centuries, with his highest score being 277 against Madhya Pradesh in the 2023-24 Ranji season.
In the A-List category, Senapati has played 49 matches, accumulating 1380 runs. Additionally, he has scored 1082 runs in 39 T20 matches.
