Maa Samleswari Temple Takes Stand Against Tobacco

"Temple Sanctity Upheld: Tobacco Ban In Maa Samleswari Temple"

Sambalpur:- The Samaleswari Temple Trust Board has issued a stern directive, prohibiting all forms of tobacco consumption within the temple grounds, effective immediately.

Addressing the media, President Sanjay Babu reiterated the board's earlier notifications, emphasizing the ban on paan (betel), Gutkha, and tobacco products within the temple precincts.

Taking cues from the restrictions enforced at the Jagannath temple in Puri, the board launched an extensive awareness campaign to educate devotees about the new regulation.

Babu implored devotees to honor the sanctity of the temple, stressing the importance of cleanliness and adherence to the guidelines. He warned that penalties would be levied on those found violating the ban, underscoring the need for collective responsibility in preserving the temple's purity.

Implementing a ban on tobacco consumption within the premises of Sambalpur's Samaleswari Temple is undeniably a commendable decision. This initiative not only upholds the sanctity and purity of the sacred space but also promotes the well-being of devotees and visitors. By discouraging the use of tobacco products, the temple authorities are fostering a healthier environment for all, aligning with the principles of cleanliness and respect integral to religious practices. Such proactive measures not only demonstrate the temple's commitment to its devotees' welfare but also set a positive example for other religious institutions to follow suit in prioritizing the health and sanctity of their spaces.
