Odisha aims to play a major role in India's development and become a driving force for the nation by 2047, according to Chief Minister Mohan Charan.
He stated that Odisha is aiming for a $500 billion economy by 2036, coinciding with the state's 100th anniversary since its formation.
We also desire to reach a 1.5 trillion dollar economy by 2047,” the CM stated!
The roadmap for this vision will be developed within three months.
This decision was made during a meeting between the CEO of NITI Aayog, B V R Subrahmanyam, and Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Tuesday.
In the discussion, the Chief Minister emphasized that Odisha has immense potential across various sectors, and realizing this potential is crucial to achieving the goal of a "Viksit Odisha" by 2036, according to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office.
NITI Aayog CEO Subrahmanyam highlighted that the Prime Minister is particularly focused on Odisha’s development. He emphasized that for the goal of "Viksit Bharat" to be realized, every state must experience exceptional growth.
"In Odisha's case, we will assist in the creation of two vision documents, one for 2036 and another for 2047," he assured.
During the discussion, it was agreed that a steering committee would be established under the leadership of the chief secretary to oversee this initiative. Additionally, extensive public outreach programs will be launched to gather opinions and suggestions to achieve the goal of "Bikasita Odisha." An action plan will also be developed to implement initiatives in line with the vision, according to the statement from the Chief Minister's Office.
Prior to the meeting with the Chief Minister, the NITI Aayog CEO and his team held an in-depth discussion with the secretaries and senior officers from all departments of the Odisha government.
