All Four Doors of Puri Jagannath Temple Opened Amid Growing Devotee Demand
In exciting news for devotees of Lord Jagannath, all four doors of the renowned Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha, have been opened. This decision was made on Wednesday during the first cabinet meeting of Odisha's newly formed BJP Government.

As promised, starting today, all four gates (dwaras) of Srimandir, the famous Lord Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha, have been opened for devotees. This announcement was made by the new Odisha Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, during the Mangala Alati rituals yesterday. In line with this decision, the Chief Minister and all the ministers traveled to Puri to participate in the 'dwara phita' rituals.

Additionally, the Chief Minister stated that a corpus fund will be established for the development and management of Srimandir in Puri, with Rs 500 crore allocated to this fund.

The process to open all four doors of Srimandir, the famous Lord Jagannath temple in Puri, Odisha, began on June 11.

According to reports, a meeting related to this matter was chaired by Puri District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain. The shrine's development administrator and police personnel visited the site. A committee was established to make the final decision.

Meanwhile, the construction of chariots for the upcoming Rath Yatra 2024 is progressing at the Ratha yard (khala) on Puri's grand road.

The demand for opening all four doors had been growing for a long time. Previously, on July 20, 2023, the calls for opening all four entry doors of the Puri Jagannath Temple for visitors had intensified.
