Pro-tem Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly Announced by CM Majhi

Pro-tem Speaker of Odisha Legislative Assembly Announced by CM Majhi
Although the Mohan Charan Majhi government has assumed office, the chief minister’s operations will be conducted from the state guest house for the next few days, until his office on the third floor of the Lok Seva Bhawan is prepared.

According to official sources, the chief minister's office (CMO) is undergoing thorough renovation and refurbishment, after which Chief Minister Majhi will move in. The walls of the chamber where the chief minister operates were freshly painted following the election results. However, a source indicated that the chamber and its associated offices require further renovation.

On his second day in office, Chief Minister Majhi headed to the state guest house following his visit to Puri. The first floor of the state guest house has been temporarily transformed into the chief minister's office (CMO). On Thursday, two senior CMO officials, additional secretaries Subhransu Mishra and Lala Manoj Ray, assisted the chief minister with his official duties.

After taking the oath on Wednesday, Majhi led the first cabinet meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan. However, he did not visit the designated chamber for the chief minister on the third floor. Beginning his duties from the guest house, the chief minister summoned several senior officials and instructed the immediate completion of the CMO. He also engaged in separate discussions with officials from the Housing and Urban Development department.

Meanwhile, the official residence for the chief minister has been decided. Majhi will reside in the residential quarters previously occupied by former chief ministers JB Patnaik and Giridhar Gamang. However, this building has served as the CM’s grievance cell for the past 24 years, as former chief minister Naveen Patnaik lived in Naveen Niwas. The quarters are currently undergoing renovation and refurbishment. Until then, Majhi will continue to stay in his existing MLA quarters in the Unit 2 area of the city.

According to official sources, both the CMO and the chief minister’s residence will be ready by next week.
